Addressing Revenue Issues
Today, Governor Awdh bin al-Wazir of Shabwa chaired a meeting focused on the challenges surrounding local revenue generation. The discussion highlighted the significant gap between estimated revenues and actual collections, as well as strategies for resource development.

The meeting included key figures such as Abdul Rabah Hashlah, the Secretary-General of the Local Council, Assistant Governor Salem Al-Ahmadi, and Finance Office Director Mohammed Atiq. They explored mechanisms to enhance revenue collection and motivate underperforming departments.
Emphasis on Policy Review and Transparency
During the meeting, Governor bin al-Wazir stressed the importance of conducting a thorough review of revenue policies. He called for improved efficiency in resource collection and insisted on absolute transparency. Additionally, he emphasized the need for quarterly plans to assess the financial performance of each department, linking these assessments to tangible performance indicators.
Monthly Oversight Report
The meeting concluded with a directive for the financial committee to oversee the creation of a monthly oversight report. This report will be discussed in the regular meetings of the Executive Office in the province.
