Yemen's Foreign Minister Discusses Key Issues with Arab League Secretary-General

Today, Yemen’s Foreign Minister, Dr. Shaya’ Al-Zandani, met with Ahmed Aboul Gheit, the Secretary-General of the Arab League, to discuss several pressing issues. The meeting took place at the Arab League headquarters in Cairo, Egypt, and centered on preparations for the upcoming emergency Arab summit and the 163rd session of the Arab League Council at the ministerial level. Both officials emphasized the importance of enhancing joint Arab action.

Current Situation in Yemen and Regional Challenges

During the meeting, Minister Al-Zandani provided an update on the latest developments in Yemen. He highlighted ongoing efforts to end the conflict and achieve lasting peace. Additionally, he addressed the situation in Gaza and other significant regional and international developments. The discussions also included the Arab League’s initiatives to activate and improve collaborative efforts across various fields.

Support for Yemen’s Leadership and Peace Efforts

Secretary-General Aboul Gheit reaffirmed the Arab League’s unwavering support for Yemen’s Presidential Leadership Council and government. He expressed solidarity with the Yemeni people and acknowledged their struggles. The Arab League remains committed to facilitating peace efforts in Yemen.

The meeting included several notable attendees, such as Khaled Bahah, Yemen’s Ambassador to Egypt, Dr. Ali Mousa, Yemen’s Chargé d’Affaires at the Arab League, and Ambassador Najwa Al-Sari. Their presence underscored the importance of the discussions and the collaborative spirit among Arab nations.

This meeting marks a significant step toward strengthening Arab unity and addressing critical issues facing the region. The ongoing dialogue reflects a commitment to peace and cooperation among member states.
