Strengthening Diplomatic Ties
Today, Dr. Shaya’ Al-Zandani, Yemen’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, met with South Korean Ambassador to Yemen, Bong Kai Do. The two officials explored opportunities for enhancing bilateral cooperation across various sectors, including political, economic, and developmental areas. Their discussions aimed to serve the mutual interests of both nations.
Acknowledging Support for Yemen
During the meeting, Minister Al-Zandani praised the strong relationship between Yemen and South Korea. He highlighted South Korea’s significant role in supporting Yemen’s development efforts. Furthermore, he acknowledged South Korea’s active leadership in the United Nations Security Council’s sanctions committee. Al-Zandani emphasized the necessity of effectively implementing arms embargo measures and holding the Houthi militia accountable for violating relevant international resolutions.

In response, Ambassador Bong reaffirmed South Korea’s support for the Presidential Leadership Council and the Yemeni government. He expressed South Korea’s commitment to enhancing collaborative efforts that contribute to Yemen’s development and stability. The ambassador’s remarks underscored the importance of joint initiatives in fostering a peaceful and prosperous future for Yemen.
