Yemeni Foreign Minister Dr. Afrah Al-Zouba met today with Dr. Amrullah Eshler, the Turkish Charge d’Affaires in Yemen. They discussed the latest developments in Yemen and the region, focusing on ways to enhance bilateral relations and expand cooperation between the two brotherly countries.
Minister Al-Zouba praised Turkey’s supportive stance towards Yemen and its constitutional legitimacy. She acknowledged Turkey’s backing of the Presidential Leadership Council and the Yemeni government. Al-Zouba emphasized the importance of strengthening political and diplomatic coordination between the two nations in light of regional and international developments. This coordination aims to support efforts to restore the state and enhance regional security and stability.
The Foreign Minister addressed the repercussions of the Houthi militia’s escalation on the security of Yemen and the region. She highlighted the threats posed to maritime safety in the Red Sea and Bab al-Mandab, as well as to international trade. Al-Zouba outlined the government’s efforts to protect citizens, strengthen state institutions, and restore security and stability.

In response, the Turkish Charge d’Affaires reaffirmed his country’s steadfast support for the Yemeni government, Yemen’s security, unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.
