Executive Office in Socotra Discusses Administrative Enhancements

The Executive Office of Socotra Archipelago convened today under the leadership of Governor Raafat Al-Thaqli to address key issues related to improving administrative and organizational operations.

Emphasizing Responsibility and Development

During the meeting, Governor Al-Thaqli, alongside Deputy Governors Raed Al-Juribi and Saleh Ali, stressed the importance of collective responsibility. He urged all officials to exert maximum effort in serving the province and its residents. Each individual must contribute to achieving comprehensive development that meets the aspirations of the archipelago’s citizens. The governor specifically called on the Civil Service Office to expedite the issuance of job numbers for approved positions and to monitor other roles, including those of contractors in the Education Office.

Monitoring Prices and Currency Exchange

The governor also highlighted the necessity of monitoring commodity prices and reporting any violations. He called for stricter oversight of exchange shops to stabilize currency rates, ensuring fair pricing for residents.

Addressing Violations and Construction Regulations

The meeting tasked the Public Works and Roads Office, along with the Land Authority, to compile a list of all violations related to public plans. They are to submit a detailed report to local authorities and issue a directive prohibiting any unauthorized developments or construction. This action follows a memorandum from the committee established to identify lands that violate legal regulations.

Planning for Future Cleanliness Initiatives

Furthermore, the Executive Office urged the Cleanliness Fund to prepare a work plan for 2026. They requested a report detailing the fund’s achievements and the challenges it faced in recent times.

This meeting marks a significant step towards enhancing administrative efficiency and ensuring the well-being of Socotra’s residents.
