Kuwaiti Emir Receives Letter from Yemeni Presidential Council President

On Tuesday, Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the Emir of Kuwait, received a written message from Dr. Rashad Mohammed Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council of Yemen. The letter addressed the strong brotherly relations between Kuwait and Yemen and explored ways to enhance and develop cooperation across various fields.

Diplomatic Exchange

The message was delivered to Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, the Crown Prince of Kuwait, by Dr. Afrah Al-Zouba, the Yemeni Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates. This meeting marked the third stop in her Gulf tour. During the exchange, Minister Al-Zouba conveyed the greetings of President Alimi and the members of the Presidential Council to both the Emir and the Crown Prince of Kuwait. She expressed their wishes for continued security, stability, progress, and prosperity for the Kuwaiti leadership, government, and people.

In return, the Crown Prince extended the greetings of the Kuwaiti leadership to President Alimi, wishing the Yemeni people peace and stability.

Strengthening Bilateral Relations

The meeting focused on the historical and brotherly ties between Kuwait and Yemen. Both sides discussed strategies to expand cooperation and address recent developments in Yemen and the region, along with issues of mutual interest.

The Crown Prince reaffirmed Kuwait’s support for Yemen’s security, stability, unity, and sovereignty. He emphasized the importance of efforts aimed at alleviating the suffering of the Yemeni people, in line with agreed-upon references. Furthermore, he expressed Kuwait’s commitment to strengthening its brotherly relations with Yemen to meet the aspirations of both nations.

Acknowledging New Leadership

Sheikh Sabah congratulated Dr. Al-Zouba on her appointment as Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, wishing her success in her new role.

In response, Minister Al-Zouba expressed Yemen’s gratitude for Kuwait’s steadfast support of the Yemeni people and their political leadership. She praised Kuwait’s significant political, developmental, and humanitarian contributions over the decades, which have left a lasting impact on Yemeni generations.

Future Cooperation and Security

Minister Al-Zouba shared updates on the situation in Yemen, detailing the efforts of the Presidential Council and the government to restore state institutions, implement economic reforms, and enhance security and stability. She stressed that supporting Yemen in asserting its sovereignty over its territory serves both Yemeni and Gulf interests, forming a crucial foundation for regional security and stability.

She highlighted the interconnectedness of security in Yemen and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, stating that challenges and cross-border threats necessitate increased coordination and solidarity to protect the sovereignty and security of the region.

Condemnation of Regional Threats

The Yemeni Minister of Foreign Affairs reiterated Yemen’s condemnation of Iranian attacks targeting Kuwait and several GCC nations. She affirmed Yemen’s full solidarity with its Gulf neighbors and rejected any violations of regional sovereignty or threats to security. She called for unified stances to confront sources of threats and destabilizing interventions.

The meeting included key figures such as Sheikh Thamer Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Chief of the Crown Prince’s Diwan, Sheikh Jraih Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and the ambassadors of Kuwait and Yemen to each other’s countries, Falah bin Fahd Al-Mutairi and Dr. Ali Mansour bin Safa, respectively.

This diplomatic engagement underscores the commitment of both nations to strengthen their ties and work collaboratively towards mutual goals.
