Strengthening Bilateral Cooperation Between Yemen and Indonesia

In a significant meeting held in Mukalla, the capital of Hadhramaut Governorate, Ambassador Salem Balfaqih, the Director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs office, discussed the enhancement of bilateral cooperation with Muhammad Johan, the non-resident Indonesian ambassador to Yemen. The two officials focused on collaborative efforts between their countries and the situation of the Indonesian community in the region.

Historical Ties and Educational Support

Ambassador Balfaqih highlighted the deep historical ties that connect Yemen and Indonesia. He emphasized the office’s commitment to providing full support for Indonesian students studying in various institutes and universities across Hadhramaut. He assured that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs would spare no effort in delivering consular services to Indonesian students, whether they are newly arrived or have recently completed their studies.

Facilitating Consular Services

In response, Ambassador Johan praised the role of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs office in facilitating consular transactions for Indonesian citizens residing in Yemen. He acknowledged the office’s efforts to assist students in overcoming challenges during their studies. Furthermore, he stressed the importance of enhancing and developing commercial activities between Yemen and Indonesia by establishing communication channels between the private sectors of both nations.

This meeting marks a crucial step in fostering stronger ties between Yemen and Indonesia, focusing on educational support and economic collaboration. Both ambassadors remain optimistic about the future of their bilateral relationship, aiming to create opportunities that benefit both countries.
