On Tuesday, Lieutenant General Ahmed Al-Basr Salem, the Deputy Chief of General Staff, convened a meeting with key military leaders in the Second Military Region. The gathering included Major General Taleb Saeed Barjash, Commander of the Second Military Region, Brigadier General Mohammed Omar Al-Yemeni, Chief of Staff for the region, along with various brigade leaders and heads of military units.
During the meeting, General Al-Basr conveyed greetings from the military leadership, which includes the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Alimi, Minister of Defense Lieutenant General Mohsen Al-Dhaari, and Chief of General Staff, Joint Operations Commander Lieutenant General Dr. Saghir Hamoud Bin Aziz. He extended their congratulations for the New Year and expressed wishes for continued stability and progress in the region.
General Al-Basr praised the exemplary performance of the Second Military Region, highlighting its advanced capabilities in maintaining stability and conducting operations within its jurisdiction. He particularly noted the high level of training and qualification for both officers and personnel. Furthermore, he applauded the success of a tactical project executed at the end of the Company Commanders Course, organized by the late Brigadier General Ali Saeed Obaid Al-Haqiqi Combat Training School, which is affiliated with the Second Military Region. He emphasized the need for a military institute in Hadramout to develop and graduate military leaders, affirming the military leadership’s commitment to this initiative.
The Deputy Chief of General Staff reiterated his dedication to addressing the needs of the Second Military Region with the Ministry of Defense. He aims to facilitate development and ensure the region can fulfill its national duties effectively.
In response, Major General Taleb Saeed Barjash welcomed General Al-Basr and his accompanying delegation, including Major General Naji Abbas Naji, Deputy Chief of War Operations at the Ministry of Defense. Barjash reaffirmed the commitment of the Second Military Region and its personnel to uphold national principles, maintain regional stability, and protect the area’s resources and wealth.
The meeting also provided a platform for discussing various challenges faced by the Second Military Region. General Al-Basr and the military leaders addressed issues related to personnel affairs, training, finance, armament, logistics, communications, medical services, and military facilities. This comprehensive dialogue aimed to identify obstacles and strategize on overcoming them to enhance the operational effectiveness of the military region.
The meeting underscored the military leadership’s proactive approach to ensuring the readiness and capability of the Second Military Region, reinforcing its critical role in maintaining security and stability in the area.
