Minister of Defense Discusses Medical Support in Aden

In a significant meeting held today in Aden, the temporary capital of Yemen, Minister of Defense Major General Mohsen Al-Dhaeri engaged with Amr Ibrahim, the head of the Médecins Sans Frontières (Doctors Without Borders) mission. The discussion focused on enhancing medical services and support for military hospitals.

Addressing Healthcare Needs

During the meeting, the two leaders examined the essential requirements for providing healthcare to both military personnel and civilians. They explored the possibility of supplying military hospitals with medical equipment and medications. Additionally, they discussed strategies to improve the skills of healthcare staff in these facilities, aiming to elevate the quality of medical services available to patients.

Acknowledging Humanitarian Efforts

Minister Al-Dhaeri praised the humanitarian role played by Médecins Sans Frontières. He emphasized the Ministry of Defense’s commitment to facilitating operations for humanitarian organizations. The minister assured that the ministry would work to overcome any obstacles, ensuring the continuity of humanitarian interventions across various sectors.

Commitment to Health Sector Support

In response, Amr Ibrahim reaffirmed the mission’s dedication to supporting the healthcare sector based on urgent needs. He highlighted the importance of coordinating with relevant authorities to guarantee that medical services reach those who require them most.

This collaborative effort underscores the ongoing commitment to improving healthcare in Yemen, particularly in military hospitals, amidst challenging circumstances.
