Houthi Militias Target Taiba Electric Station in Medina

The official spokesperson for the Coalition Forces, Major General Turki Al-Maliki, announced today, Thursday, that a terrorist attack occurred at the Taiba electricity distribution station in the city of Medina, known as the City of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).

Investigation Reveals Houthi Involvement

In a statement, Al-Maliki said, “Results from investigations and inquiries by relevant authorities confirmed the involvement of Houthi terrorist militias in planning and executing this cowardly terrorist act, through operational reviews and remnants of the drone used.”

Impact on Electrical Services

Al-Maliki added that the terrorist act caused one transformer to go out of service without affecting the electrical network. He emphasized that this cowardly act targeted a civilian facility that provides electrical services to the Prophet’s Mosque in Medina. He noted that it represents a continuation of these extremist militias’ attempts to target the holy sites and deliberately provoke the feelings of millions of Muslims worldwide by targeting Mecca and Medina.

Coalition’s Commitment to Protecting Holy Sites

Al-Maliki confirmed that the coalition will continue to take and implement measures to deter the Houthi terrorist militias, ensuring the protection of the holy sites and the safety of pilgrims in Mecca and Medina.
