Today, Major General Saqr bin Aziz, the Chief of General Staff and Joint Operations Commander, met with Major General Fahd Al-Salman, the Commander of the Joint Forces in the Coalition Supporting Legitimacy. The two leaders focused on enhancing military cooperation and coordination to bolster national and maritime security, as well as combat terrorism.
During the meeting, which included key military leaders such as Brigadier General Saleh Taimis from the First Military Region and Brigadier General Taleb Barjash from the Second Military Region, the officials reviewed the current developments within Yemen. They discussed the operational landscape amid escalating hostilities from the Houthi terrorist group and its supporter, Iran. Other attendees included Brigadier General Mansour Thawab from the Third Military Region, Brigadier General Fadl Hassan from the Fourth Military Region, Brigadier General Haikel Hantaf from the Sixth Military Region, and Brigadier General Muhammad Al-Muntasir from the Seventh Military Region, along with several leaders from the joint forces.
The leaders also explored ways to enhance ongoing support from the Joint Forces Command to the Yemeni Armed Forces. This support encompasses operational, logistical, technical, and training aspects, all aimed at improving the readiness of the forces to perform their constitutional and national duties effectively. The discussions highlighted the importance of boosting the capabilities of the Yemeni military in the collective Arab defense effort, restoring stability and security in Yemen, and actively participating in anti-terrorism and anti-smuggling operations to enhance global maritime security.
Major General Saqr bin Aziz congratulated Major General Al-Salman on receiving royal approval for his new position as Commander of the Joint Forces, wishing him success in this critical role. He acknowledged the steadfast support of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for Yemen and its legitimate leadership, expressing gratitude for the brotherly solidarity shown to the Yemeni people at various stages. Major General bin Aziz emphasized the desire to strengthen bilateral cooperation and coordination to serve the interests of both nations and ensure their security and stability.
This meeting marks a significant step in reinforcing military alliances and enhancing collective efforts to address the challenges facing Yemen and its people.
