The talks focused on enhancing cooperation and coordination in military and maritime security efforts, particularly concerning Yemen and its armed forces.

Current Situation in Yemen

During the Manama Dialogue conference, Major General bin Aziz reviewed the ongoing national battle that the Yemeni armed forces and the Yemeni people have faced for over a decade. This struggle is primarily against the Houthi militia, which receives support from the Iranian regime. He emphasized that the Houthi threat extends beyond Yemen, posing risks to the region and the world.

Meetings with Key International Figures

The Chief of Staff met individually with several prominent figures, including Hans Grundberg, the UN Special Envoy for Yemen, and his military advisor, General Anthony Hayward. He also engaged with Admiral Brand Cooper, Commander of U.S. Central Command, and Admiral Kurt Wainwright, Commander of the U.S. Fifth Fleet.

He expressed the Yemeni leadership’s desire for serious contributions to strengthen both civil and military institutions in Yemen.
