The Chief of General Staff, Lieutenant General Saghir bin Aziz, recently assessed the combat readiness of the armed forces across various regions and military sectors in the country. This evaluation took place during a comprehensive meeting he chaired, which included heads of departments and military leaders.
During the meeting, Lieutenant General bin Aziz urged military leaders to enhance vigilance and readiness in light of ongoing regional developments. He emphasized the importance of being prepared for any potential challenges that may arise.
Accompanied by Deputy Chief of Staff Major General Ahmed Al-Basri, Inspector General of the Armed Forces Major General Adel Al-Qumairi, and Assistant Minister of Defense Major General Rashid Atiq, bin Aziz listened to briefings from military leaders. These briefings covered the current operational status and the execution of assigned missions. He conveyed greetings from President Rashad Muhammad Al-Alimi, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and acknowledged the leadership’s commitment to the military institution.
Lieutenant General bin Aziz stressed the need to enhance military discipline and increase training efforts. He highlighted the importance of improving the efficiency and readiness of the armed forces as they continue their fight against the Houthi militia and allied groups.
Additionally, he called for stronger collaboration and coordination among military and security units to maintain security and stability in liberated areas. This cooperation is crucial to counter any attempts to disrupt peace.
The Chief of Staff expressed gratitude for the support from Saudi Arabia, recognizing its role in backing Yemen and its leadership during various challenges. He praised the efforts of the Joint Forces Command in supporting the Yemeni armed forces and acknowledged their sacrifices in the shared struggle for survival.
Lieutenant General bin Aziz reaffirmed the commitment of Yemen’s political and military leadership, alongside Saudi Arabia and Gulf Cooperation Council countries, to stand against Iranian aggression targeting vital interests and national security.
