Dr. Ahmed Bin Dagher Expresses Condolences for the Passing of Renowned Poet Sultan Al-Suraymi

Dr. Ahmed Bin Dagher, the Chairman of the Shura Council, sent a heartfelt condolence message to Ghassan Sultan Al-Suraymi and his brothers, as well as the entire Al-Suraymi family, mourning the death of their father, Sultan Said Al-Suraymi. Al-Suraymi, a former editor of Al-Thawri newspaper, parliamentarian, and celebrated poet, passed away after a life dedicated to service and achievement.

Tribute to a Cultural Icon

In his message, Dr. Bin Dagher praised the late Sultan Al-Suraymi’s contributions to the nation and his significant roles in various organizations. Al-Suraymi was a prominent member of the General Union of Arab Writers, the Yemeni Union of Writers and Poets, and served as a member of the political bureau of the Yemeni Socialist Party. Dr. Bin Dagher noted that Al-Suraymi left an indelible mark on the cultural and literary landscape of Yemen and the Arab world. He carried the banner of progressive thought and advocated for the rights of the people, making him a giant in the realms of art, poetry, and creativity.

Offering Support to the Family

Dr. Bin Dagher extended his deepest condolences to the family of the late poet and all his admirers. He prayed for Al-Suraymi’s elevation among the prophets, the truthful, the martyrs, and the righteous, asking God to grant strength to his children and family during this difficult time. He expressed hope that they find solace and patience in their grief, affirming, “Indeed, we belong to God and to Him, we shall return.”

The loss of Sultan Al-Suraymi resonates deeply within the community, as he was not only a literary figure but also a symbol of cultural pride and resilience in Yemen. His legacy will continue to inspire future generations.
