President Alimi Welcomes UAE Ambassador to Yemen

On Monday, President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Alimi, the head of the Presidential Leadership Council, welcomed the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Ambassador to Yemen, Mohammed Hamad Al-Zaabi. This meeting highlighted the strong bilateral relations between Yemen and the UAE, focusing on opportunities to enhance cooperation across various sectors.

Diplomatic Greetings and Well-Wishes

During the meeting, Ambassador Al-Zaabi conveyed greetings from His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE. He expressed wishes for President Alimi’s health and happiness, as well as for the Yemeni people’s security, stability, and peace.

In response, President Alimi asked Ambassador Al-Zaabi to relay his greetings and those of the Council members to the UAE leadership. He wished the Emirati people continued progress and prosperity under their wise leadership.

Addressing Current National Challenges

President Alimi briefed the UAE Ambassador on pressing national issues, particularly the economic and humanitarian situations exacerbated by attacks from the Iranian-backed Houthi militias. These attacks have targeted oil facilities and disrupted international shipping routes, significantly impacting Yemen’s stability.

Strengthening Bilateral Relations

The President praised the distinguished bilateral relations between Yemen and the UAE. He acknowledged the active role of the UAE within the coalition supporting legitimacy in Yemen. Furthermore, he highlighted the UAE’s economic, humanitarian, and developmental interventions aimed at alleviating the suffering of the Yemeni people. These efforts are crucial for restoring state institutions, achieving stability, and fostering development and peace.

Meeting Attendees

Dr. Yahya Al-Shaibi, Director of the Presidential Office, attended the meeting, underscoring the importance of collaboration between Yemen and the UAE in addressing shared challenges and enhancing mutual interests.

This meeting underscores the ongoing commitment of both nations to strengthen their partnership and work towards a peaceful and prosperous future for Yemen.
