President Alimi Engages with Hadhramaut Governor on Security and Stability

On Monday, President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Alimi, head of the Presidential Leadership Council, reached out to Hadhramaut Governor Salem Al-Khanbashi. The discussion focused on the latest security developments and efforts to manage rising tensions in the province.

Local Authorities’ Efforts to Restore Order

During the call, Governor Al-Khanbashi provided President Alimi with an update on the ongoing initiatives led by local authorities and the security committee. These efforts aim to normalize conditions, safeguard public tranquility, and maintain social peace in Hadhramaut.

Commitment to Local Governance

President Alimi reaffirmed his full support for local leadership in fulfilling their constitutional duties. He emphasized the importance of defending the state’s authority and protecting citizens’ interests. The President also highlighted the need to thwart attempts by Houthi militias and allied groups to disrupt security and stability in Hadhramaut.

Call for Unity Among Local Forces

The President noted that Hadhramaut has historically served as a cornerstone for the state and national development. He urged all tribal leaders and political factions in the province to prioritize wisdom, unify their efforts, and rally around local governance and national institutions.

Empowering Hadhramaut’s Citizens

President Alimi reiterated the state’s commitment to empowering Hadhramaut’s residents to manage their resources effectively. He stressed that achieving their aspirations for development and equitable representation in power and wealth hinges on the unity of Hadhramaut’s people. Furthermore, he called for protecting public interests and enhancing security to prevent chaos and division.

Responsibility Towards Stability

The President assured that the Council and government would work responsibly with local leadership to restore order and support constructive efforts to resolve internal disputes. He warned that any escalation in the field could jeopardize citizens’ interests and essential services, potentially leading to risks that must be avoided at all costs.
