President Rashad Mohammed Alimi Attends International Security Conference in Munich

On Friday, President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Alimi, head of the Presidential Leadership Council, participated in the opening session of the International Security Conference held in Munich, Germany. The event attracted a wide array of attendees, including heads of state, government officials, and representatives from various regional and international organizations.

Focus on Maritime Security

This year’s conference emphasizes maritime security, particularly in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden. The discussions center around the escalating threats to global shipping routes and their implications for international peace and security.

Keynote Address on Maritime Threats

President Alimi will serve as one of the key speakers in a panel discussion focused on maritime security. The session will address the ongoing threats posed by the Houthi militia and associated terrorist organizations to international shipping. Additionally, the discussions will explore the necessary support to strengthen the Yemeni government’s capabilities in tackling security challenges, including counter-terrorism, smuggling, and cross-border threats.

Updates on Yemen’s Situation

During the conference, President Alimi will also provide insights into the current situation in Yemen. He will highlight the positive developments in the country, which have occurred recently with support from Saudi Arabia. These improvements include enhanced public services, a stronger state presence, and unified security and military decision-making.
