The Chairman of the Leadership Council has ordered the formation of a high-level investigation committee into the assassination of a reporter for Al Arabiya and Al Hadath.

President Alimi Orders Investigation into Journalist’s Assassination

In a decisive move, President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Alimi, head of the Presidential Leadership Council, has directed the formation of a high-level joint committee. This committee will include representatives from the Ministry of Interior, the State Security Agency, and Military Intelligence. It will work in coordination with the local authority in Hadhramaut to investigate the assassination of journalist Mohammed Ayda, who was killed by a bomb targeting his vehicle in Mukalla.

Initial Reports and Government Response

President Alimi received initial reports from Hadhramaut Governor Salem Al-Khanbashi and relevant agencies regarding the cowardly terrorist act. He emphasized the importance of tracking down the perpetrators and bringing them to justice swiftly. The President praised the rapid response from the government, local authorities, and security forces in Hadhramaut. Immediate actions included forming investigative committees and initiating evidence collection.

Commitment to Justice

The President reiterated the state’s unwavering commitment to pursuing those responsible for this terrorist crime and anyone behind it. He assured that specialized agencies would continue their work until they complete the investigations and uncover all related circumstances. Additionally, he instructed that the family of the deceased journalist receive full support during this difficult time.

President Alimi acknowledged the professional and national qualities that characterized journalist Mohammed Ayda throughout his career.
