On Thursday, President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Alimi, head of the Presidential Leadership Council, left the temporary capital of Aden. He is traveling to Saudi Arabia to engage in discussions with regional and international partners regarding the evolving situation in Yemen and the surrounding region.
A source from the Presidential Office stated that the President’s meetings aim to rally political and economic support for the government. Key priorities include ensuring timely salary payments for employees, securing essential goods and services, improving the national currency, and enhancing economic recovery opportunities.
During his multilateral meetings, President Alimi will explore ways to advance international support for the Yemeni people and their legitimate leadership. The discussions will focus on restoring state institutions, establishing security and stability, and ensuring the safety of global navigation routes, which face unprecedented threats from Houthi militias and their backers.
