On Saturday, Abdulrahman Sheikh, the Minister of State and Governor of Aden, visited the Mental Health and Neurological Hospital and Friendship Hospital in Sheikh Othman District. His aim was to assess the quality of health services and treatments provided to patients.
During the visit, the governor was accompanied by Dr. Tarek Al-Shaabi, the Director of the Public Health and Population Office. Together, they listened to reports from the hospitals’ management, department heads, and medical staff. These discussions focused on the nature of operations, the main challenges faced by medical teams, and the hospitals’ needs for equipment, medical supplies, and medications.
While touring the facilities, Governor Sheikh inaugurated the newly rehabilitated hall of the Psychological and Neurological Association at the Mental Health and Neurological Hospital. This renovation received support from local authorities. The governor emphasized the importance of prioritizing the health sector, recognizing it as a vital area directly impacting citizens’ lives.
Governor Sheikh stressed the need for increased efforts from hospital management and staff to enhance performance and improve the quality of patient care. He urged them to monitor their needs and communicate these to relevant authorities. This approach aims to address challenges and create a suitable healthcare environment for both patients and healthcare workers.
