Six civilians died, and four others sustained injuries, including women and children, due to shelling by Houthi militias backed by the Iranian regime. The attacks targeted residential villages in the districts of Mawasit, Al-Masrak, and Quds, located in southern Taiz Governorate.
Local sources reported that one woman died, and four civilians were injured, including a child and two women, as a result of Houthi shelling that hit the villages of Al-Dum and Al-Hajra in the Bani Youssef area of Mawasit district.
In Al-Masrak district, sources confirmed the deaths of Derham Ahmed Amir, his wife, daughter, and son’s wife, along with her children. A mortar shell fired by Houthi militias struck the family’s home in the village of Al-Sarm.
In the Quds area, sources reported civilian casualties due to continuous Houthi shelling on residential villages. This escalation coincided with ongoing clashes, with reports indicating that the militias have surrounded several villages. They are preventing residents and the injured from leaving the area to seek medical treatment.
Houthi militias persist in targeting neighborhoods and villages across various regions of Taiz, resulting in civilian deaths and injuries. Calls for the protection of residents and the opening of safe passages for the injured and affected families continue to grow.
