The virtual meeting addressed various developments in the region, particularly the ongoing escalation by the Houthi terrorist militias and their aggressive actions. These actions have significant implications for the overall situation in the country, presenting challenges at multiple levels.
During the meeting, Lieutenant General Al-Aradah emphasized the importance of the international community fulfilling its responsibilities toward Yemen. He called for enhanced support for the government and state institutions, especially in light of the increasing challenges and threats to Yemen’s security and the region. He specifically highlighted the ongoing Iranian interventions and their continuous support for the Houthi terrorist militias, which pose serious risks to regional security and global trade routes.
Al-Aradah asserted that sustained international support is crucial for enabling the state to assert its authority across its territories. This support is vital for protecting national security and addressing sources of external threats, thereby enhancing regional security and safeguarding maritime routes and international shipping lines.
Lieutenant General Al-Aradah praised Turkey’s supportive stance towards the Yemeni people, reflecting the deep historical ties between the two nations. He noted the importance of continuing to strengthen bilateral cooperation and expanding its scope to serve mutual interests across various fields.
For his part, Ambassador Eshler reaffirmed Turkey’s commitment to supporting Yemen’s sovereignty, stability, and territorial integrity.
