Violent Clashes Erupt in Eastern Taiz

Late last night, intense clashes broke out between the Yemeni Armed Forces and the Houthi militia in the eastern front of Taiz city. This escalation coincided with airstrikes targeting militia positions in the western front of the province.

Details of the Clashes

The Media Center of the Taiz Axis reported that the fighting erupted in the Al-Krifat front, located east of the city. However, the center did not provide further details regarding the nature or outcomes of these confrontations.

Airstrikes Target Houthi Positions

In a separate statement, military media clarified that the Air Force of the Armed Forces conducted several airstrikes on Houthi positions and gatherings in the Hamir front of the Maqbana district, west of Taiz. These operations aimed to disrupt militia movements in the area.

Recent Military Gains

These developments followed the Armed Forces’ announcement of successfully repelling Houthi forces and securing control over the Naqil and Jabal Al-Koura in the Al-Kadah front. Simultaneously, warplanes targeted significant military reinforcements heading toward the northwestern front of the city and the fronts of Al-Barah and Maqbana.

Significant Damage to Houthi Forces

According to military sources, the airstrikes targeted more than 21 military vehicles and trucks that were part of a reinforcement gathering near Al-Rawdah School, close to the Sharab and Al-Rubai junction. This operation resulted in substantial losses for the militia and hindered their ability to send reinforcements to the front lines.

Ongoing Violent Confrontations

Multiple fronts in Taiz, particularly in the western countryside, have witnessed fierce confrontations since dawn last Thursday. The Houthi militia launched a broad offensive aimed at isolating Taiz city from its coastal areas.

The situation remains tense as both sides continue to engage in fierce battles, highlighting the ongoing conflict in Yemen.
