The Taiz Axis Command and the Al-Shahid Al-Hamadi Institute for Leadership Development celebrated the 58th anniversary of National Independence Day on November 30. The event featured a speech and artistic performances, attended by various military and security leaders.
Lieutenant General Abdul Aziz Al-Majidi, the Taiz Axis Commander, emphasized the importance of this national occasion. He described it as a pivotal moment in Yemen’s history. Al-Majidi noted that independence resulted from the struggles of Yemenis during the revolutions of September 26 and October 14. He highlighted the sacrifices made by martyrs from both the north and south, which ultimately led to liberation from colonial rule. Furthermore, he called for unity and collective efforts to confront the Houthi militia and restore state institutions.
Colonel Abdul Aziz Al-Sabie, Deputy Director of the Al-Shahid Al-Hamadi Institute, reviewed the history of independence and the sacrifices made by revolutionaries. He also pointed out the current challenges facing the Yemeni people, underscoring the need for resilience and determination.
The event included a variety of patriotic segments, featuring songs, poetry, and historical speeches. Brigadier General Saad Al-Yousufi highlighted the stages of national struggle and the role of Taiz as a support base for fighters. Poets Majid Saleh Al-Jaifi and Ahmed Majeeb Al-Ashbat recited national poems that resonated with the audience.
The Taiz celebration embodied the essence of national independence, reinforcing the message of unity and the continued struggle to face current challenges.
