President Alimi clarified that the state has treated the cases of Aftihan and student Hussein Al-Sufi as a national and moral responsibility from the outset. The presidency directly coordinated with local authorities to oversee the security campaign, ensuring the arrest of the main suspects involved in the crime. He reaffirmed full support for law enforcement agencies to carry out their duties independently, pursue fugitives, and hold accountable any parties found complicit or negligent.

Enhancing State Authority

The President praised the local and security authorities in Taiz for their recent efforts to remove armed manifestations from buildings and facilities, including numerous public and private offices. This initiative aims to strengthen the state’s authority and ensure public safety.

Honoring the Memory of Aftihan Al-Mashhari

Prioritizing Victims’ Rights

The President acknowledged the council’s and government’s understanding of the demands from the families of the victims, emphasizing their legitimate right to justice and fairness. He stated that these demands represent a moral and national priority, and the state will utilize all available means to heal the wounds of the oppressed and restore citizens’ trust in justice and security institutions.

Family’s Gratitude

In a heartfelt moment, Aftihan’s father, Mohammed Al-Mashhari, expressed deep gratitude for the presidential honor and the President’s ongoing attention to the case. He thanked the security authorities in Taiz for their efforts in apprehending several perpetrators and continuing to pursue those evading justice.
