Government Aims to Stabilize Tensions
On Saturday, the Syrian Presidency declared a comprehensive and immediate ceasefire in the Sweida province, located in the southern part of the country. This decision aims to alleviate escalating security tensions and pave the way for national stability efforts.
Statement from the Presidency
In an official statement reported by state media and the German news agency, the government emphasized the need for this action. The statement highlighted the “delicate circumstances” the country faces, stressing the importance of preserving Syrian lives and maintaining territorial integrity. Call for Compliance

In related developments, Syrian Interior Ministry spokesperson Nour al-Din al-Baba announced that internal security forces have begun deploying in Sweida. This deployment comes under direct orders from the Presidency and aims to protect civilians and restore order.
