Nearly a week after two powerful earthquakes struck Venezuela, international rescue teams persist in their search for survivors trapped beneath the rubble. Despite the significant humanitarian crisis, hope remains alive as rescue operations continue.
Salvadoran President Nayib Bukele announced that rescue teams from El Salvador successfully located a 44-year-old man trapped under the debris of a shopping center in the coastal city of Maiquetía. Rescuers provided him with water through a tube until they could safely extract him.
Additionally, firefighters from Quito, Ecuador, rescued a 12-year-old boy. They confirmed that “signs of life after five days represent the greatest motivation to continue search efforts.”
