Sudanese Armed Forces Report Strong Readiness Against Rebellion
Sudan’s military is reportedly in peak condition to confront the ongoing rebellion, as stated by Deputy Chief of Staff Major General Abdulkhair Abdullah Nasser. He emphasized that the armed forces are diligently preparing to “eliminate the remaining rebellion,” referring specifically to the ongoing clashes with the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) that have persisted since the outbreak of conflict in April 2023.
Strong Coordination Among Armed Forces
In a recent statement from the Sudanese military, Major General Nasser highlighted the significant coordination between the armed forces and their supporting units. He reassured the public that all military operations are conducted under the army’s command and that there is a full integration of supporting forces into its structure. Furthermore, he urged citizens to disregard rumors, characterizing them as having a “clear objective” designed to mislead the public.
Recognition of Victories in Kordofan and Blue Nile
During the inauguration of new facilities for the Third Infantry Division in Shendi, Nasser acknowledged the recent military victories in the Kordofan and Blue Nile regions, commending the Third Division for its efforts in what he called the “War of Dignity.” He noted that the newly constructed facilities signify a crucial enhancement in improving working conditions and providing essential health services for both military personnel and civilians.
A Humanitarian Crisis of Unprecedented Scale
Since April 2023, Sudan has been grappling with devastating warfare between the army and the RSF. The United Nations has categorized this conflict as the largest humanitarian crisis in the world, with approximately 12 million people displaced and half of the population struggling to secure access to food.
