In a recent meeting led by President Dr. Tawfiq Basarda, the University of Shabwa’s council approved the academic calendar for the 2026-2027 academic year. The council set September 6 as the official start date for classes across all university colleges and scientific centers.
The council emphasized the necessity of developing and adhering to execution plans based on the approved calendar. This commitment aims to ensure the smooth operation of both academic and administrative processes, ultimately achieving the university’s educational objectives.
During the meeting, the university’s vice presidents presented progress reports on the implementation of plans for the second half of the 2025-2026 academic year. Each report received thorough discussion, leading to the incorporation of constructive feedback and suggestions aimed at enhancing performance.
The council also approved reports detailing the achievements of colleges and scientific centers for the current academic year’s second half. After careful discussion and necessary adjustments, these reports aim to improve both academic and administrative quality.
Additionally, the council reviewed reports on the qualifications of teaching assistants eligible for academic advancement. The council made decisions aligned with the university’s plans to develop its academic staff.
In another segment of the meeting, the council discussed minutes from higher councils and college meetings. They took appropriate actions regarding the raised recommendations. The council also addressed several agenda items, approving measures to enhance institutional performance and meet the evolving demands of academic and administrative development.
