This effort aims to enhance the educational process, contribute to human development, and achieve stability and sustainable development.

Project Distribution Across Governorates

The program reported that these projects span the governorates of Taiz, Aden, Socotra, Al-Mahrah, Marib, Hadramaut, Hajjah, Lahij, Abyan, Shabwa, and Al-Dhale. The initiatives cover general education, higher education, and technical and vocational training, aiming to provide comprehensive and sustainable education while improving access to learning opportunities.

General Education Initiatives

In the realm of general education, the program has established and equipped over 40 model schools. These schools feature classrooms and modern laboratories for chemistry and computer science, focusing on improving educational quality and developing students’ skills in a comprehensive learning environment.

Advancements in Higher Education

At the higher education level, the program has implemented projects to enhance university infrastructure. This includes equipping 28 modern laboratories at the Faculty of Pharmacy at Aden University and establishing an advanced forensic laboratory at the Faculty of Law, the first of its kind in Yemen.

Additionally, the program has contributed to the development of the University of Al-Jawf in Marib by constructing two buildings that house 16 classrooms and an administrative office building, along with providing university transportation services. This addresses challenges related to student expansion and improves the educational environment.

The program also focuses on establishing and equipping medical, pharmacy, and nursing colleges at Taiz University, which will enhance the training of health professionals and support the development of scientific research and medical services.

Technical and Vocational Training Projects

In the technical and vocational training sector, the program is executing a project to establish and equip a technical institute and a college of education in the Socotra Archipelago. This initiative aims to raise the efficiency of technical and vocational education and provide a suitable learning environment for students and trainees.

Moreover, the program has launched several quality initiatives to qualify and empower educational staff. These include a project for international professional teaching certificates, a digital empowerment project for Yemeni teachers, a rural education access project, and an initiative to enhance educational stability.

The rural education access project has successfully trained 150 girls in its first phase to obtain teaching diplomas. The second phase aims to qualify 450 girls who are high school graduates from the rural areas of Hadramaut, Al-Mahrah, Marib, Taiz, Lahij, and Shabwa.

Future Educational Projects Announced

The program indicated that at the beginning of 2026, Saudi Arabia announced a new package of educational projects. This includes the establishment of two colleges for computer science and information technology at Hadramaut and Sayun Universities, the development of the Agricultural Veterinary Technical Institute, and the creation of a college of applied and health sciences at King Salman Medical and Educational City in Al-Mahrah. Additionally, the plan includes building and equipping 30 schools in various Yemeni governorates.

The program confirmed that these projects are part of over 300 developmental initiatives being implemented by Saudi Arabia across 16 Yemeni governorates through the Saudi Program for the Development and Reconstruction of Yemen. These efforts aim to enhance basic services and promote sustainable development across various vital sectors.
