Saudi Arabia calls on Iran to cease threats to international navigation.

Saudi Arabia Condemns Iranian Attacks on Maritime Vessels
The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs has strongly condemned the recent attacks by the Islamic Republic of Iran on the Saudi tanker “Wadiyan” while it was transiting through the Strait of Hormuz. A similar attack occurred on the Qatari tanker “Al-Rukayat.” The ministry emphasized that these actions pose a serious threat to international navigation safety and global energy supply security.
Iran Violates International Laws
In its statement, the Saudi Foreign Ministry highlighted that Iran’s continued aggression represents a severe violation of international law and norms. These actions contradict United Nations Security Council Resolution 2817, which guarantees freedom of maritime navigation and safe passage through international waterways. Consequently, such behavior undermines regional stability.
Saudi Arabia’s Demands to Iran
The ministry stressed the urgent need for Saudi Arabia to demand an immediate halt to any actions that threaten regional security and the safety of international navigation and energy supplies. It asserted that Saudi Arabia holds Iran fully accountable for these attacks and the resulting negative consequences on both regional and international security.
The Importance of Maritime Security
Saudi Arabia views maritime security as a fundamental element for achieving stability in the region. Any threat to navigation freedom adversely impacts the global economy and exacerbates crises. Therefore, the international community must take a firm stance against these violations.
