In a significant effort to enhance the urban landscape and infrastructure, Minister of Public Works and Roads, Engineer Salem Al-Harizi, held discussions with Ahmed Al-Daoudi, the Director of Mansoura Directorate. The meeting focused on the rehabilitation of the corniche in Mansoura and reviewed a study prepared by the Directorate’s Public Works and Roads Office.
The ambitious project aims to refurbish the corniche, named after the late artist Mohammed Marshed Naji (Al-Murshidi), located in the Rimi area. Key elements of the project include constructing rainwater drainage channels, maintaining shades, restoring stone walls along the corniche, and proposing solutions to prevent sewage water overflow. These enhancements are designed to rejuvenate the area while addressing longstanding infrastructure challenges.
Minister Al-Harizi emphasized the strategic importance of revitalizing this corniche. He highlighted its role as a principal leisure spot and a cultural and tourist facade for the city. Moreover, he stressed the need for collective efforts to preserve tourist locations and economic facilities, signaling the government’s commitment to improving public spaces and infrastructure.
This initiative marks a pivotal step towards improving the quality of life for residents and enhancing the city’s tourist appeal. The collaboration between governmental entities represents a concerted effort to address infrastructural needs while promoting the cultural heritage of Mansoura.
The rehabilitation project is a testament to the government’s dedication to preserving and enriching the city’s cultural and economic landscapes. It promises a brighter, more vibrant future for Mansoura’s residents and visitors alike.
