President Alimi Emphasizes Stabilization of Liberated Provinces as Key to Restoring State Institutions

Meeting Between President Alimi and Lahij Governor

On Thursday, President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Alimi, head of the Presidential Leadership Council, convened a meeting with Murad Al-Halimi, the Governor of Lahij. The primary objective of this meeting was to evaluate the current conditions in the liberated provinces and identify ways to enhance services for local citizens.

Assessment of Local Governance in Lahij

During the meeting, President Alimi received a detailed briefing from Governor Al-Halimi regarding the performance of local authorities over the recent period. The discussion encompassed the achievements in restoring institutional discipline and responding effectively to citizens’ needs. Moreover, they deliberated on future plans and strategies aimed at ensuring sustainable services, developing local resources, and improving coordination among security and military agencies to maintain security and stability in the region.

Strengthening Investment and Security Measures

President Alimi commended the local authority’s initiatives in Lahij to normalize conditions and enhance essential services. He underscored the necessity for close collaboration with the government to combat corruption, improve spending efficiency, and effectively manage revenues. Additionally, he highlighted the importance of fostering a favorable local investment environment, protecting state lands, and ensuring the security needed for the smooth movement of goods and people between provinces.

Furthermore, President Alimi expressed his appreciation for the vigilance and readiness of security and military forces, recognizing Lahij as a critical frontline region against Houthi militias. He asserted that stabilizing and safeguarding liberated areas is essential for the restoration of state institutions.

In a broader context, the President called for the preservation of gains achieved in unifying fronts and consolidating security and military decisions. He regarded the newly formed partnership with Saudi Arabia as a significant achievement that necessitates responsible management and efforts to expand cooperation across various sectors.

Dr. Yahya Al-Shaibi, Director of the Presidential Office, was in attendance during this pivotal meeting.
