On Tuesday, President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Alimi, head of the Presidential Leadership Council, chaired a significant government meeting aimed at addressing pressing national issues. The assembly included governors from various liberated provinces, facilitating discussions on coordination between the national government and local authorities.
The meeting was attended by notable figures such as Sultan Al-Aradah, Governor of Marib, and Salem Al-Khanbashi, Governor of Hadramout. Also present were Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Shaif Al-Zindani, Central Bank Governor Ahmed Ghaleb, and Economic Team Leader Hossam Al-Sharjabi. The primary agenda revolved around improving living conditions and essential public services. Participants received updates from the Prime Minister, Central Bank Governor, Minister of Finance, and provincial governors regarding the current national landscape.
The meeting highlighted the importance of a collaborative approach to implement vital economic, financial, and administrative reforms. Attendees discussed strategies for enhancing the performance of revenue-generating agencies, while also promoting governance, transparency, and anti-corruption measures. Furthermore, the group underscored the necessity of improving basic services, including electricity, water, transportation, health, and education.
Participants emphasized the critical need for coordinated efforts between local authorities and central agencies. This collaboration is aimed at establishing security and stability, combating smuggling and illegal immigration, and addressing land encroachment issues. The meeting reaffirmed the commitment to implement the decisions made by the Presidential Leadership Council, including Resolution No. (11) of 2025, which mandates the deposit of all resources into the government’s general account and the closure of any accounts outside the Central Bank.
In conclusion, President Alimi commended the progress made in the ongoing reform program. He stressed the importance of activating anti-corruption mechanisms to ensure the sustainability of these achievements. Moreover, he acknowledged the support provided by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the Yemeni people, emphasizing the strategic partnership as a historic opportunity for future collaboration.
