The Traffic Police Department in Marib is gearing up for the Arab Traffic Week, scheduled to take place from May 4 to May 10. This initiative coincides with similar events across various Arab nations. Meanwhile, the Traffic Police in Shabwa have confirmed that they have completed all necessary preparations for the upcoming activities.

Objectives of Arab Traffic Week

Colonel Ghanem Marah, the Director of Traffic Police in Marib, stated in an interview with the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) that the primary goal of Arab Traffic Week is to promote traffic culture and educate the public about traffic regulations. This initiative aims to reduce accidents and minimize both human and material losses. Colonel Marah emphasized that all preparatory work is complete to ensure the success of the events, leveraging accumulated experience and partnerships with both official and unofficial entities.

Awareness Activities in Marib

Marib’s program will feature a wide range of awareness activities, including:

  • Increased visibility of traffic police on main and secondary roads.
  • Distribution of over 60,000 awareness posters, brochures, and leaflets.
  • Broadcasts of informative messages through loudspeakers and local radio stations.

  • Awareness initiatives in mosques and during Friday sermons.
