100 Young Refugees Benefit from Economic Empowerment Project in Dar Saad

In a significant development for the local community, 100 young refugees and host community members in the Dar Saad district of Aden have received vocational training tools as part of an economic empowerment initiative. This project is funded by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).

Training Tools and Areas of Focus

The economic empowerment project provides training tools across various sectors, including:

  • Hairdressing
  • Tailoring
  • Air conditioning and refrigeration
  • Solar energy technologies
  • Automotive mechanical engineering
  • Automotive electricity

These tools aim to equip participants with essential skills, enhancing their employment prospects and contributing to the local economy.

Importance of Community Projects

Aboud Naji, the Director General of Dar Saad, emphasized the significance of such projects in fostering humanitarian responses and comprehensive development. He noted that improving infrastructure and basic services is crucial for the country’s progress. Naji also highlighted the importance of strengthening partnerships with UNHCR to support and enhance educational and training processes.
