On Thursday, Israeli military forces advanced into agricultural lands west of the town of Al-Rafid in southern Quneitra, Syria. This information comes from the Syrian Arab News Agency. The incursion involved two military vehicles, which detained several farmers and shepherds present in the area.
During the incursion, Israeli forces interrogated the detained farmers and shepherds on-site before releasing them. The Israeli military withdrew without making any formal arrests. This incident highlights the ongoing violations faced by civilians in the region.
This incursion follows the establishment of a fortified iron barrier, reinforced with concrete blocks, near the separation fence with the occupied Golan Heights. Previously, this route had opened west of Al-Rafid, further escalating tensions in the area.
Israel continues to breach the 1974 disengagement agreement through repeated incursions into southern Syria and assaults on civilians. These violations include raids, arrests, land confiscation, and shelling of residential areas.
In response, Syria has declared that all actions taken by Israeli forces in Syrian territory are invalid and illegal. The Syrian government has reiterated the need for international intervention to halt these violations and emphasized the necessity for Israel’s complete withdrawal from southern Syria.
