In a significant meeting today, Dr. Mohammed Shabeeba, Yemen’s Minister of Awqaf and Guidance, engaged in discussions with Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, focusing on enhancing cooperation and coordination between the two sides. The discussions also revolved around the conditions of Yemeni students studying at Al-Azhar University and the renewal of cooperation protocols.
Minister Shabeeba lauded Al-Azhar’s pivotal role and its scholars in supporting Islamic issues and Muslims worldwide. He emphasized the educational efforts of Al-Azhar that have reached global scales, from which Yemen has greatly benefited. Shabeeba affirmed the strong relationship between the Yemeni and Egyptian peoples, crediting Al-Azhar with a significant role in bolstering this bond.
On his part, the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, expressed his affection for Yemen, considering it a dear part of the Islamic community. He highlighted his commitment to addressing the needs of Yemeni students studying at Al-Azhar, ensuring they receive the necessary support to further their education.
