In a recent meeting held in Aden, the Minister of Agriculture, Irrigation, and Fisheries, Salem Al-Saqtri, engaged with Omar Baouzeir, the Chairman of the Mukalla Fish Canning Factory (Al-Ghawzi). The discussion centered on the factory’s current operational status, alongside ongoing development initiatives aimed at enhancing its production, marketing, and export capabilities.
During the session, Minister Al-Saqtri received a comprehensive overview of the factory’s workflow. He was apprised of the significant challenges the facility has encountered in recent months, as well as the strategic efforts underway to rehabilitate and upgrade its production lines. These enhancements are designed to improve operational efficiency and bolster the competitiveness of Yemeni products in both local and international markets.
Minister Al-Saqtri commended the Mukalla Fish Canning Factory, recognizing it as one of Yemen’s largest and most distinguished fish canning facilities, with a robust commercial reputation in regional and international spheres. He underscored the importance of supporting national fisheries industries and promoting local investments in manufacturing, canning, and export sectors.
Further, the minister reiterated the ministry’s commitment to assisting national factories within the fisheries sector.
