Meteorologists forecast moderate rain and pleasant weather in coastal areas, with cold temperatures in mountainous regions.

Weather Forecast for Coastal and Mountainous Regions

The General Authority for Civil Aviation and Meteorology’s Weather Forecast and Early Warning Center predicts clear to partly cloudy weather in coastal areas and their surroundings today, Sunday. The temperature will remain moderate, with a chance of scattered rain along parts of the western coast and adjacent regions. Winds will blow lightly to moderately, based on various weather maps, satellite images, and global numerical model outputs.

Mountainous Areas Expect Cool Conditions

In its daily weather bulletin, which the Yemen News Agency (Saba) received, the center forecasts that mountainous regions will experience clear to partly cloudy skies. The temperatures will be cool to relatively cold, especially during the night and early morning hours in parts of the western highlands. There is also a possibility of scattered rain in some areas. Meanwhile, desert and plateau regions will see hot and somewhat dusty weather during the day, with moderate winds.

Temperature Predictions for Sunday

According to the weather bulletin, the expected maximum and minimum temperatures for today, Sunday, in coastal and nearby areas are as follows:

  • Aden: 30°C / 24°C
  • Mukalla: 29°C / 22°C
  • Hodeidah: 30°C / 24°C
  • Socotra: 30°C / 20°C
  • Mokha: 31°C / 23°C
  • Al-Ghaydah: 29°C / 22°C
  • Zinjibar: 31°C / 23°C
  • Lahij: 30°C / 21°C

In desert and plateau areas, temperatures are expected to be:

  • Sayun: 33°C / 15°C
  • Marib: 33°C / 14°C
  • Ataq: 32°C / 16°C
  • Bayhan: 32°C / 17°C

In mountainous regions, the temperatures will be:

  • Sana’a: 29°C / 10°C
  • Taiz: 29°C / 12°C
  • Dhamar: 27°C / 07°C
  • Al-Dhale: 28°C / 15°C
  • Ibb: 27°C / 13°C
  • Al-Bayda: 26°C / 09°C

Safety Warnings for Residents

The center has reiterated its warning to residents in high-altitude areas about low temperatures during the night and early morning. Citizens, especially children and the elderly, should take necessary precautions. Additionally, the center cautions drivers in mountainous regions about reduced visibility due to fog or mist. Those with respiratory conditions in areas expected to experience dust should also take appropriate measures.

Marine Conditions Update

In its daily marine bulletin, the Weather Forecast and Early Warning Center anticipates that sea conditions along the coasts of Al-Mahrah, Hadhramaut, Shabwa, Abyan, Aden, Bab al-Mandab, the western coasts, and the Socotra Archipelago will be calm. The sea conditions in our regional waters, including the Arabian Sea, Gulf of Aden, and the Red Sea, will also remain mild.
