Meteorologists forecast mild weather along coastal areas and scattered rain in mountainous regions.
Weather Forecast for Coastal and Mountainous Regions

The General Authority for Civil Aviation and Meteorology’s Weather Forecast and Early Warning Center predicts partially cloudy weather with moderate temperatures for coastal areas and their surroundings this Sunday. Winds will range from moderate to active along the eastern and southern coasts, as well as the western coasts, with speeds between 20 to 30 knots, stirring up dust and sand.
Mountainous Areas Expect Rain
In its daily weather report, which the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) received, the center forecasts that mountainous regions will experience partially to mostly cloudy conditions. There is a possibility of scattered rain, occasionally accompanied by thunder, particularly in parts of the western and southwestern highlands. Meanwhile, desert and plateau areas will see clear to partly cloudy skies, with moderate to active winds also stirring up dust and sand.
Temperature Predictions
According to the weather bulletin, expected maximum and minimum temperatures for coastal areas today are as follows:
- Aden: 31°C / 26°C
- Mukalla: 30°C / 24°C
- Hodeidah: 31°C / 26°C
- Socotra: 33°C / 22°C
- Mokha: 31°C / 25°C
- Al-Ghaydah: 31°C / 22°C
- Zinjibar: 31°C / 25°C
- Lahij: 31°C / 24°C
In desert and plateau regions, temperatures are expected to be:
- Sayun: 33°C / 16°C
- Marib: 30°C / 17°C
- Ataq: 31°C / 17°C
- Bayhan: 30°C / 16°C
For mountainous areas, temperatures will be:
- Sana’a: 23°C / 08°C
- Taiz: 28°C / 14°C
- Dhamar: 24°C / 06°C
- Al-Dhale: 26°C / 15°C
- Ibb: 27°C / 13°C
- Al-Bayda: 25°C / 08°C
Safety Warnings for Rainfall Areas
The center advises residents in areas expecting rainfall to exercise caution and avoid valleys during and after rain. Additionally, it warns citizens in mountainous regions, particularly children and the elderly, about the potential drop in temperatures.
Marine Conditions and Warnings
In its daily marine bulletin, the Weather Forecast and Early Warning Center anticipates that sea conditions along the coasts of Al-Mahra, Hadramout, and Shabwa will be calm. In contrast, the coasts of Abyan, Aden, Bab al-Mandab, and the Socotra Archipelago will experience moderate waves. The western coasts may see moderate to rough seas. The center also notes that the regional waters in the Arabian Sea and Gulf of Aden will have moderate waves, while the Red Sea will be rough. Fishermen and sea-goers in the Gulf of Aden, Bab al-Mandab, and the Red Sea should remain cautious due to rough sea conditions and active winds.
