Weather Forecast for Coastal and Mountain Regions

The Meteorological Forecast and Early Warning Center of the General Authority for Civil Aviation and Meteorology predicts a mix of moderate to relatively hot weather along coastal areas and nearby regions. Today, Monday, conditions will generally be clear to partly cloudy, with moderate to active winds. Strong winds are expected along the southern western coasts, Bab al-Mandab, and Meyun Island.
Mountainous Regions Experience Cool, Dry Conditions
The center’s daily weather report, shared with the Yemeni News Agency (SABA), indicates that mountainous areas will experience dry and cool weather, especially during the night and early morning. Fog may form in some regions, and scattered thunderstorms could bring varying intensities of rain to parts of the highlands and western slopes. Meanwhile, desert and plateau areas will see generally dry and partly cloudy conditions, with temperatures ranging from relatively hot to moderate. Winds in these areas will also be moderate to active, stirring up dust and sand.

Safety Warnings for Thunderstorms and Fog
The center warns residents in areas expecting thunderstorms to be cautious of lightning strikes. Citizens should take necessary precautions to avoid risks associated with these storms and refrain from staying in flood-prone areas. Additionally, those in mountainous regions and parts of the southern coasts should remain vigilant due to fog, which can significantly reduce visibility. The center also cautions individuals along the southern Red Sea coasts about strong winds that may stir up dust and sand.
Marine Conditions and Warnings for Fishermen
In its daily marine bulletin, the Meteorological Forecast and Early Warning Center anticipates calm sea conditions along the coasts of Al-Mahra, Hadramout, Shabwa, and the Socotra Archipelago. Moderate waves will prevail along the coasts of Abyan and Aden, while Bab al-Mandab and western coasts may experience moderate to rough seas. The center also notes that the sea conditions in the Arabian Sea will be calm, while the Gulf of Aden will see moderate to rough waves. In the Red Sea, conditions will be rough. Fishermen and sea-goers in Bab al-Mandab, Meyun Island, southern western coasts, and regional waters in the Red Sea should exercise caution due to strong winds.
