Weather Forecast: Hot and Humid Conditions Persist
The General Authority for Civil Aviation and Meteorology’s Weather Forecast and Early Warning Center predicts continued hot and humid weather along coastal areas. The forecast also indicates extremely high temperatures in desert and plateau regions, with potential thunderstorms bringing heavy rain and hail to mountainous areas.
Coastal and Eastern Regions
The center highlights that eastern Al-Mahra may experience fog and drizzle. Additionally, scattered rain is likely along the eastern and southern coasts, accompanied by active to strong winds, particularly in the Socotra Archipelago.
Mountainous Areas
In the mountainous regions stretching from Saada in the north to Taiz and Al-Dhale in the south, partially cloudy weather is expected. Thunderstorms may extend eastward to Al-Bayda, Shabwa, Hadramout, and Al-Mahra.
Temperature Alerts
According to the report, maximum temperatures may reach 44 degrees Celsius in Sayoun and 43 degrees in Marib. Coastal areas will see temperatures ranging from 29 to 38 degrees Celsius. Authorities continue to issue warnings against direct sun exposure.
Marine Forecast and Navigation Warnings
In the marine forecast, the center anticipates rough seas, particularly along the coasts of the Socotra Archipelago, Al-Mahra, and Hadramout. Moderate to high waves are expected in the Arabian Sea and Gulf of Aden, while the Red Sea and western coasts should see calmer conditions.
The center has reiterated its warnings to ship captains and fishermen about turbulent seas and rip currents, especially in the regions of Shabwa, Abyan, Aden, and Lahij. Precautionary measures are strongly advised.
