The General Authority for Civil Aviation and Meteorology’s Weather Forecast and Early Warning Center has announced that coastal areas will experience mild weather during the day, transitioning to relatively cool temperatures at night and in the early morning. The forecast also indicates partial cloud cover with a chance of scattered rain in Socotra Archipelago and the southern and southwestern coasts. Winds will range from moderate to active.
According to the daily weather bulletin received by the Yemen News Agency (Saba), the mountainous areas will face dry and cold conditions, with temperatures potentially dropping to very cold levels, especially at night and in the early morning. Fog and stratus clouds may form over parts of the western highlands. Meanwhile, the southern and southwestern highlands will experience cool to relatively cool temperatures. The desert and plateau regions will generally see dry and clear weather, with moderate daytime temperatures and very cold nights. Winds in these areas will be light to moderate.
The center has provided the following temperature forecasts for Saturday across various regions:
The center has reiterated its warning to residents in high-altitude areas about low temperatures. Citizens, especially children and the elderly, should take necessary precautions. Additionally, drivers in mountainous regions should be cautious of reduced visibility due to fog. Farmers in elevated areas should also be aware of the potential impact of extremely low temperatures on their crops.
In its daily marine bulletin, the center forecasts that sea conditions along the coasts of Al-Mahra, Hadramout, Shabwa, Abyan, Aden, Bab al-Mandab, and Socotra will be moderate. However, the western coasts may experience moderate to rough seas. The center warns fishermen and sea-goers along the eastern, southern, and western coasts, as well as around Socotra and in the Arabian Sea and Red Sea, to be cautious of rough sea conditions and strong winds.
