On Friday evening, Major General Mahmoud Subaihi, a member of the Presidential Leadership Council, and Dr. Sha’if Mohsen Al-Zandani, the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, hosted a memorial service in Aden for the late President Abdrabbuh Mansur Hadi. The former president passed away following a distinguished career that left a lasting mark on Yemen’s national, political, and military landscape during several critical historical junctures.

A Gathering of Condolences

The memorial service took place at the Aden Mall hall in the Crater district, organized by the Presidential Leadership Council. The event attracted a large turnout of officials, local leaders, military and security personnel, political figures, and numerous citizens. Family members of the late president were also present, underscoring the profound impact of President Hadi’s legacy on the Yemeni populace.

During the ceremony, Major General Subaihi and Dr. Al-Zandani received condolences alongside the family of the deceased. Both leaders expressed their hopes for divine mercy and comfort for the bereaved family and the Yemeni people. They emphasized that Yemen lost an extraordinary national figure with President Hadi’s passing, praising his courage and leadership during challenging times, particularly in navigating the nation through crises and the destructive Houthi coup.

As attendees shared their grief over the loss of the esteemed leader, they recalled significant moments from President Hadi’s career. His steadfastness against the Houthi insurgency and his unwavering commitment to Yemen’s sovereignty were highlighted as defining traits. The participants pledged to uphold his principles and continue the struggle to restore the state and put an end to the Iranian-backed Houthi rebellion.

A Moment of Reflection

The memorial service also included a recitation of prayers for the late president’s soul and provided an opportunity for attendees to sign a condolence book. The atmosphere was filled with sorrow and respect, as many reflected on President Hadi’s courageous stand against the Houthi movement and its oppressive agenda.

In conclusion, the gathering not only honored the memory of President Hadi but also reinforced the commitment of Yemen’s leaders and citizens to pursue a unified and sovereign nation.
