President Alimi Leads Mourning Ceremony for Former President Abdrabbuh Mansur Hadi

President Alimi Leads Funeral Service

On Friday, President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Alimi, alongside members of the Presidential Leadership Council, including Sultan Al-Arada, Tariq Saleh, Dr. Abdullah Alimi, and Othman Majali, attended the funeral of former President Abdrabbuh Mansur Hadi. The ceremony attracted a large gathering of mourners, featuring notable figures such as former Vice President Ali Mohsen Al-Ahmar, Speaker of the House Sultan Al-Barakani, and Chairman of the Shura Council Dr. Ahmed Bin Dagher. Numerous parliamentarians, government officials, and military leaders also participated in this significant event.

Final Resting Place

The late president was laid to rest at Al-Awd Cemetery following a prayer service held at Imam Turki bin Abdullah Mosque in Riyadh. The funeral witnessed substantial attendance from both citizens and members of the Yemeni community residing in Saudi Arabia, reflecting the profound impact Hadi had on the nation.

Expressions of Grief and Legacy

In light of this profound loss, President Alimi extended his heartfelt condolences to the Yemeni people, as well as to the family and friends of the late president. He emphasized that Yemen has lost one of its most distinguished leaders, a figure emblematic of the defense of the state and the republican system.

President Alimi characterized Hadi as a unique national leader, embodying wisdom, patience, and responsibility. He remained steadfast in his commitment to the aspirations of the Yemeni people for freedom, dignity, and equal citizenship. Until the very end, Hadi championed Yemen’s unity and sovereignty, resolutely defending constitutional legitimacy and advocating for a fair federal state.

According to President Alimi, Hadi navigated Yemen through exceptionally challenging circumstances, and his wisdom and patience were instrumental in maintaining regional and international recognition of Yemen’s legitimate institutions. He also played a pivotal role in the National Dialogue Conference, which marked a significant milestone in contemporary Yemeni history.

President Alimi affirmed that Hadi’s legacy would endure in the hearts of Yemenis. His unwavering dedication to national values, resilience against the coup, and commitment to unity and peaceful power transfer will continue to inspire future generations.

Additionally, President Alimi expressed profound gratitude for the sincere support extended by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, its leadership, and its people during Hadi’s years of residence there. He acknowledged the care and respect shown to Hadi and his family, reflecting his esteemed national stature and leadership role. Alimi prayed for the late president’s eternal peace and for comfort for his family and loved ones.

The Presidency has announced a three-day official mourning period, during which flags will be flown at half-mast. Condolence registers are being opened both domestically and internationally to honor the late president’s legacy and national significance.
