Local Authorities Celebrate 62nd Anniversary of September 26 Revolution and 61st Anniversary of October 14 Revolution in Taiz

Today, the local government in Taiz organized a significant speech and artistic celebration to commemorate the 62nd anniversary of the September 26 Revolution and the 61st anniversary of the October 14 Revolution. The event drew a large crowd, showcasing the community’s spirit and commitment to remembering these pivotal moments in Yemen’s history.

Governor Emphasizes the Importance of Revolution

During the celebration, Taiz Governor Nabil Shamsan highlighted the significance of both revolutions. He stated that these events marked a turning point in Yemeni history, allowing the people to shed the shackles of oppression and embrace freedom. Governor Shamsan expressed that the revolutions reinvigorated Yemen, which had suffered from stagnation and a lack of historical progress.

He remarked, “Celebrations in every village and city reflect the appreciation of this province, which has long been a beacon of enlightenment and awareness since the formation of the first resistance organization in 1936. This organization fought against the Imamate regime and welcomed revolutionaries from both the north and south, uniting their efforts to overthrow tyranny and expel colonial forces from the south.”

A Call for Unity Against Oppression

Governor Shamsan further emphasized that these celebrations serve as a reminder for all Yemenis. He called for unity in confronting those who attempt to restore the oppressive Imamate regime. He urged citizens to align their goals and strategies to build a brighter future. “These celebrations convey a message of a unified struggle and shared destiny,” he said, underscoring Taiz’s historical connection to the revolutions that liberated the country from both Imamate rule and colonialism.

Event Highlights and Performances

The celebration featured a variety of performances, including national and patriotic songs presented by local cultural groups. Schools from the province also participated, showcasing poetry and artistic expressions that honored the revolutionaries who fought against oppression and colonialism. The event attracted various dignitaries, including the Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports for Women, Nadia Abdullah, along with local officials, military leaders, and a large number of citizens.

This celebration not only commemorates the historical significance of the September 26 and October 14 revolutions but also reinforces the community’s commitment to freedom and unity in the face of adversity. The local government’s efforts to honor these milestones reflect a deep appreciation for Yemen’s revolutionary history and the ongoing struggle for a brighter future.
