President Al-Alimi Announces New Power Stations for Hadhramaut

On Sunday, His Excellency Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council, announced the start of procedures to establish two electric power stations in Hadhramaut Governorate. Each station will have a capacity of 50 megawatts, providing a total of 100 megawatts of power.

Project Funding and Locations

In his speech at the Police College, attended by council members Dr. Abdullah Al-Alimi and Sheikh Osman Majali, President Al-Alimi explained that the project is a joint effort funded by the government and local authorities. One power station will be built in Coastal Hadhramaut, while the other will be in the Valley.

Achievements Amidst Challenges

Before leaving Mukalla on Sunday, President Al-Alimi praised the accomplishments made for the people of Hadhramaut despite difficult financial conditions. These challenges are worsened by terrorist attacks from Houthi militias, backed by the Iranian regime, which target oil facilities, maritime shipping, and international navigation routes.

Call for Unity and Development

Furthermore, the President urged residents of Hadhramaut, including political, civil, and community leaders, to unite and build upon these achievements. He stressed the importance of the governorate as a driving force for development and the restoration of state institutions.

Government Commitment

Moreover, President Al-Alimi affirmed the council and government’s commitment to addressing the legitimate demands of Hadhramaut’s people. He pledged to collaborate with all state institutions.

Formation of a Development Committee

To fulfill the aspirations of Hadhramaut’s people, the President announced plans to form a committee with various relevant entities. This committee will assess service and developmental priorities, aiming to enhance infrastructure and living conditions despite ongoing challenges.
