The National Cancer Foundation officially launched Breast Cancer Awareness Month today in Al-Hawta, Lahij Governorate. The campaign, themed “No One Should Face Breast Cancer Alone,” aims to raise awareness about the disease and emphasize the importance of community support for those affected.
During the event, Lahij Governorate Deputy, Wadah Al-Halimi, highlighted the critical need for awareness regarding breast cancer. He stressed that with proper support, women can overcome this disease. Al-Halimi stated, “We can defeat breast cancer and survive it by providing the necessary assistance to our female patients.”
Dr. Khalid Jabir, the Director of the Public Health and Population Office in Lahij, praised the National Cancer Foundation’s significant role in health awareness campaigns. He warned about the dangers of breast cancer, particularly if patients delay early detection. Early diagnosis remains crucial for effective treatment and better outcomes.
The Executive Director of the National Cancer Foundation in Aden urged for enhanced collaboration between health and community organizations to support this vital initiative. Strengthening partnerships will help amplify the message of awareness and support for breast cancer patients.
This month-long campaign seeks to engage the community in promoting education about breast cancer, encouraging women to seek regular screenings, and ensuring that no one faces this battle alone.
