King Salman Relief Center delivers vocational bags to beneficiaries of the empowerment project in Shabwa.

King Salman Relief Center Empowers Youth in Shabwa

The King Salman Relief and Humanitarian Aid Center delivered professional toolkits today in the city of Ataq, Shabwa Governorate. This initiative benefited 110 young individuals who received training in various vocational fields tailored to the local job market. This effort is part of a broader vocational empowerment project aimed at enhancing livelihoods, implemented by the Good Coalition for Relief. The project targets the capacity building of 1,500 young men and women across eight governorates in Yemen.

Comprehensive Training Program

The training program, which lasted 45 days, included both theoretical and practical components. Participants learned skills in several areas, including:

  • Electricity and solar energy
  • Gypsum and decorative manufacturing
  • Modern carpentry
  • Home appliance maintenance
  • Plumbing
  • Motorcycle and vehicle repair
  • Boat maintenance
  • Men’s tailoring

This diverse curriculum equips the youth with essential skills to meet market demands effectively.

Local Officials Praise the Initiative

Fahd Al-Tousli, the Assistant Governor of Shabwa, praised the humanitarian and developmental role of the King Salman Relief Center in Yemen. He emphasized the significance of the vocational empowerment project in supporting youth and preparing them for the job market, especially amid the country’s challenging economic conditions.

Aligning Education with Community Needs

Nasser Habtour, the Director of the Technical Education and Vocational Training Office in the governorate, highlighted the project’s alignment with efforts to connect vocational education to community needs. He stressed the importance of continuing such quality initiatives to expand sustainable self-employment opportunities for the youth in Shabwa.

Acknowledging Youth Potential

Project Manager Iman Al-Zubairi affirmed that the youth rightfully earned their professional toolkits. She emphasized the project’s role in fostering economic independence and self-reliance among participants.

This initiative not only empowers young individuals but also contributes to the overall economic development of Shabwa, paving the way for a brighter future.
